The theme of this week is –
Have you always loved to read? If not, how did you get into reading?
Mandie – I was a huge reader as a child and teenager. My parents never paid attention to what I read so there was a lot of Stephen King and Danielle Steele's older books as well as the classics. I always had my nose in a book. During my later years of high school and afterwards I was distracted and didn't read until after my girls were born. That's when one of my friends pushed Twilight on me. I thought the concept sounded stupid but I enjoyed them. My love for reading was rekindled and my love for supernatural fantasy was born.
I do like more complex reads than Twilight now but it's what started it – again for me.
If you enjoy paranormal romance and urban fantasy you can check out my shorts in three anthologies HERE.
My Urban Fantasy novel The Edge of Eden will be out soon.

I read the Twilight books too. I was sucked into them. Now, they seem like such fluff.
I had the same experience with “Twilight.” I thought it sounded silly, but my friend convinced me to give it a try, and it got me hooked on paranormal books!
