It is a new year and many people make resolutions. Many people fail, but you don’t have to! Last year I made a resolution to lose weight and lost 20 lbs. in the year, making 30 lbs. total, BUT I also gained a lot of muscle and dropped 8 clothing sizes!! I’d still like to lose another 10 lbs. but honestly I’m happy where I am and I’m incredibly proud of myself!

It is easier than you think. You just need to make some changes in your life. I still eat tacos, pizza, and drink soda (I didn’t use to AT ALL!)

Here are 3 suggestions to help you lose weight. You owe yourself 1 hour every day for exercise – Yes, I DID hear you groan but honestly, it isn’t that much. Find something you like to do. I joined kickboxing and Brazilian jui jitsu classes. I also cycle for long distances, but I didn’t start out that way. I make sure I get an hour of something in 5 or 6 days a week. Even if it is walking….but make it a brisk walk. Yes, I know you are busy but so am I. Make yourself a priority!

Drink Water – but, but Mandie, you just said that you drink soda above. Yes, I do. Before or after a workout… or sometimes at the movie theater. But 85% of the time, I have water. Staying hydrated is incredibly important. Hate plain water? Then add something to it, there are a ton of little packets to add or drink tea. Bigelow® BENEFITS Tea is fantastic. I like Radiant Beauty.

Get your greens and veggies – I just came back from vacation and you want to know how much weight I gained (didn’t exercise much) – NONE. Why? We walked around a lot and I ate my vegetables. When everyone else was piling their plates high with tons of carbs and desserts, I made sure to eat salads and vegetables. Yes, I did eat some carbs and desserts, but very little. Just a taste. It is all about moderation. I don’t deny myself of anything but I do make sure to get the good healthy stuff in first.

Publix is having an amazing sale to help you stay on track. Starting January, 27 you can get $49 worth of savings! They have great deals on Kentucky Legend® Turkey Breast, Bigelow BENEFITS Tea, Zephyrhills® Spring Water, organicgirl Salad and so much more!!
