There is darkness in everyone.
Joshua Silverman was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Orange County, California.
While attending California State University, Fullerton and studying Criminal Justice, Joshua was introduced to a creative writing class where he wrote a series of paranormal stories. As a child, he has always been an amateur historian, focusing on ancient Egypt, Greece, and Roman civilizations.
Since working in the legal environment, he has combined his passion for creative writing with his love of ancient history by penning his debut novel, The Emerald Tablet, the first of seven in the Legends of Amun Ra series.
Review -Once upon a time, I thought I preferred single genre books, plot lines that involved characters of only one supernatural type. A witch book, a vampire book, a werewolf book—those were all I could take in at once.
But the new cross-over books have opened my eyes to all the possibilities. And THE LEGENDS OF AMUN-RA: The Emerald Tablet is definitely one of those eye-openers.
Greek and Egyptian mythology meet science fiction in what has the potential to be an intriguing story. The ideas are fascinating, and the reader wants it to work.
The large number of characters was a little confusing for me, and there are times when the plot veers from the innovative to the predictable. However, overall the action scenes were strong and well-developed.
For a die-hard sci-fi fan, this book may be a winner. I’ll be interested to see where the author takes the series, and I hope that there might be some editorial improvement in the next books.
