Can a secret crush . . .
Jo Walsh has loved Cameron Mitchell for as long as she can remember. Whether front and center in her life or on the periphery, the tall, brooding artist has made his presence seductively and irresistibly known. But whenever they start to get close, Cam pulls away. Jo's tired of keeping her feelings in a box Cam is afraid to open. If he wants her, he'll have to prove it. And if he doesn't, Jo will need to know the real reason why.
. . . become the love of a lifetime?
How do you walk away from your soul mate? Cam wishes he knew. No matter how far he runs from Jo, he can't resist looking back at the silver eyes that seem to see right through him. But as well as Jo thinks she understands Cam, the dark truth about his past is something she shouldn't have to handle. Cam's sure that setting Jo free is the right thing to do. Too bad his heart has other ideas.

Review – This is my first book by Kennedy Ryan and it's the third in this series. I didn't have to read the previous two because the author did an excellent job with backstory and she made me want to read the others. I intend to when I have more time.Â
Cam was an incredibly written character. He had a lot of depth and wasn't a cookie cutter male lead. He was born on the wrong side of the tracks to a prostitute. He has no idea who his father was. He was of mixed race – a little of everything. Tanned skin and brilliant blue eyes. (the cover does nothing for Cam…or me). When he was around 12 he went into foster care and became friends with the extremely rich family that ran the organization. They became his family and that is where Jo came in.
Jo was the cousin of Cam's best friend. Cam was always protecting her and keeping her away from him.. because he wasn't worthy (a lot f juicy backstory you can read about 😉 ) Jo was fiery and funny. She knits and runs because of sexual frustration. I also found her down to earth for being so rich.
Cam and Jo were great! There was the perfect amount of tension and yes there is sex in this book. This was a wonderful read.
I received a copy for my honest review, no other compensation was received.Â
