Rejuvenating Grapefruit Sugar Scrub Recipe
Think pink grapefruit is just for breakfast? That may be the most popular use of the pretty fruit, but it isn't the favorite use in my house anymore. I love the smell of pink grapefruit, it's uplifting and decided to put the whole fruit to use!
Whip up a batch of this awesome sugar scrub for your hands, feet, or elbows to exfoliate your skin and leave it wonderfully smooth.
Ingredients:
1 Pink Grapefruit
3T white sugar
Directions:
1. Zest the skin of the grapefruit into a small glass or plastic bowl that has a tight fitting lid. Don't worry if you get too far into the flesh since this is not being ingested.
2.Add 3 tablespoons of white sugar into the bowl.
3.Mix together until the zest is distributed into the sugar evenly.
4.Scoop out the sugar mix and rub between damp hands. This mixture can also be applied to your feet or elbows; anywhere you have some rough skin.
5.Rinse with warm water, taking care if rinsing your feet in the tub or shower. Also, be gentle the first time you use it in order to see how much “scrubbing” your rough spots may require. If you lightly rub the sugar and grapefruit mixture into your skin until the sugar dissolves and is smooth, and then rinse your face thoroughly. Your skin will be toned and gorgeous.
Tips:
-
This can be made in larger batches for either personal use or gift giving.
-
Store in a cool, dark place.
-
If using right away, consider adding a little of the fruit juice to the sugar to really kick up the scent!
Wow I love this, it is pretty, and I have saved all these empty containers wondering what to do with them – eureka!
