If there’s one thing that Bridgette Reynolds has learned recently, it’s that the perfect shoes, the perfect hair, and the perfect dress do not make for the perfect proposal. In fact, sometimes they make for the not-so-perfect breakup.
Now, Bridgette must do everything in her power to win Adam back. She knows they are meant to be. And nothing will stand in her way—not her friends, not her grandmother, not even the fact that Adam is now engaged to Serene after a whirlwind romance.
Focused on her plan to win Adam back, Bridgette isn’t expecting Ian—her college best friend, her love, her big regret—to come back into her life. They sink back into their comfortable friendship as if no time has passed at all, making Bridgette start to question her feelings for Adam. But Ian has a few secrets of his own . . . secrets that could shatter their friendship once and for all.
Bridgette has to make some major decisions—should she speak now? Or forever hold her peace?

I started this at night, I planned on reading it a few evenings before I went to bed but that didn't happen. I was so engrossed in it that I stayed up until 1am which is almost unheard of. Can I give this book a 10? It was so fantastic!
Adam is a mega-jerk and I really didn't like who Bridgette was when she was pining over him. She was always on egg shells and couldn't be who she REALLY was. Which was why I adored Ian. The author did a fantastic job of introducing Ian and Bridgette's past, she would go back and give a little then give a little later and tied it all with a big bow to show you the broad pictured.
Becky Monson made me forget how much I loathe present tense books ( I really really loathe them!) because this book was so so good!! There was a quirky cast to support this book from Grandma and her bridge club, two best friends, and Adam's big Italian family who is still very close with Bridgette.
There were some fun curve balls that I would LOVE to discuss but I enjoyed the way they crept in there so I won't spoil anything for you. Pick it up, it is only $2.99 which is far less than many other books of this caliber.
About the author:
By day, Becky Monson is a mother to three young children, and a wife. By night, she escapes with reading books and writing. In her debut novel, Becky uses humor and true-life experiences to bring her characters to life. She loves all things chick-lit (movies, books, etc.), and wishes she had a British accent. She has recently given up Diet Coke for the fiftieth time and is hopeful this time will last… but it probably won’t.

Off the top of my head, I can’t even think of any bride-themed movies except The Wedding Crashers. LOL. My favorite love story movie is definitely Somewhere in Time. Always has been!
I’m with you in not liking present tense books – this is pretty far afield from my usual sci fi and fantasy, but does look entertaining!
