This past weekend I had my very first Girls’ Weekend thanks to Caribe Royale Hotel. When I arrived Friday evening I was extremely stressed out. I drove down and while going through Daytona there were a ton of bikers for bike week. Once I got into the hotel my stress started melting away. The lobby was lined with palm trees, everyone was so nice, and when we got into our room….. wow, look at this view of the pool. I couldn’t wait to dip my toes.

Friday evening we decided to go off the hotel grounds for dinner. It is near EVERYTHING. You can hop over to Disney, Downtown Disney, Sea World, a TON of restaurants and shopping! We went to a Caribbean restaurant and came back to the hotel to write. Our room was gorgeous and the bed was amazingly comfortable. I took a LOOONG HOT shower, no one was banging on the door and I spent the rest of the evening curled up in bed writing. I wrote A LOT, no one needed a snack, or mommy’s attention. I honestly didn’t realize how badly I needed this.

Saturday morning we woke up early and had a delicious buffet breakfast at The Tropicale

Then we went back to the room to wait for a while until our massage at their spa. Oh – My – Gosh. Yep, I 100% deserved this weekend. We got coconut scrubs on our feet, a fantastic massage, and an amazing mani-pedi. The staff was friendly and didn’t talk much. I know that may sound weird but I’m not a person for idle chitchat, especially if I’m trying to relax. I left the massage and pedicure EXTREMELY relaxed. I was ready to write some more but first we ran up to our room and changed into our bathing suits. I mean we HAD to…. besides, we can sit next to the pool and plot our next scene.

We got some salads and yummy cocktails from Calypso’s Bar and Grill which is located right by the pool. While I was there I kept thinking how much my girls would LOVE the pool and incredible slide. So much fun, there was a fun little kids’ area too. This hotel is extremely family friendly. My girls are already asking when I can take them so we are thinking of doing Disney and staying here.

After we got our fill of the sun and pampering we went back to the room and wrote. When we checked in there was a cheese plate and bottle of Pinot Noir waiting on us. Seriously YUMMY. Gourmet cheeses and fruit – made an great afternoon snack and we got some work done.

Sunday morning I slept in late and Tawdra sat in the other room and wrote. We had some more of the delicious buffet breakfast and walked about the conference center.

I’m happy to report that Tawdra and I both finished our books and decided this was so relaxing AND productive that we will do it quarterly. Some of our girlfriends are even planning on coming down AND we are thinking about hostessing a book convention there. THAT is how impressed we were with the hotel.
