I love Beanitos. I am a vegetarian and a rather health conscious foodie who is always looking for a delicious nutritious snack. I found the perfect alternative to potato chips the moment I tasted Beanitos.
The folks at Beanitos were kind enough to send me a sampler case of their awesome bean chips that included Beanitos® Black Bean, Pinto Bean and Flax, Black Bean with Chipotle BBQ and Pinto Bean and Flax with Cheddar Cheese. I think potato chips are not the best for your body, and corn chips hurt my stomach. Beanitos are delicious as well a good for you! They are corn, wheat, gluten and soy free, and are verified through the Non-GMO project (www.nongmoproject.com). This means they, “take specific steps to minimize the possible introduction of any ingredients that have been bioengineered (genetically modified).”
My favorite are the Black bean. They are made from whole black beans, whole grain rice, sunflower oil, and sea salt. Yep, that’s it! No funny things you can’t pronounce. The taste is divine! My 10 year old daughter liked the Pinto Bean and Flax with Cheddar Cheese, but she did say it had a little spice to it. My husband, a junk food junkie, LOVED the Black Bean with Chipotle BBQ. He thought the seasoning was very akin to his favorite rib sauce.
Perhaps one the best reasons to eat Beanitos is that a serving will provide you with up to 6g of fiber. We all know that our standard American diet leaves something to be desired in the fiber department. One serving of the Black Bean Chipotle BBQ chips gives you 25% of your daily fiber. They are also certified low glycemic and are a good source of protein.
