Dukan Diet – Manage your Diabetes

lose-weight-290x3001When I was first diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes a few years ago, I was discouraged and overwhelmed. I was receiving so much information at once, and I did not really understand how I would be able to change my diet. However, I knew how important a healthy diet was to managing my diabetes. For the first few months, I just stumbled along. I tried to eat the right things, but I did not really have a plan. My blood sugar levels were still not stable, so I knew that I needed a different solution. In my diabetes support group, someone mentioned the Dukan Diet. I had never heard of this program, so I went to the Internet to find out more.

I discovered that the Dukan Diet was specifically developed for patients who have Type 2 diabetes. I liked the idea of using a diet that was created just for people like me. The Dukan Diet does not make any crazy claims about being a miracle diet or helping you lose 50 pounds in two months. It is an organized, sensible plan for people with Type 2 diabetes. The Type 2 diabetes diet that I have been following through the Dukan Diet has made a big difference in my health. I am still eating delicious foods, but I know what foods I need to stay away from. Once I mastered my diet, my blood sugar levels stayed stable. This has given me more energy and reduced a lot of my symptoms.

  1. I’ve lost 30lbs on the Dukan Diet so far; I have about 30lbs more to go. I love that there is NO measuring or counting! Easy to follow although I do get tired of meat sometimes. Still I can’t complain as I’ve gone down 2 pant sizes and 3 shirt sizes!
