The Yoga Garden Game by YogaKids is a really neat concept, and one that changed the way I think about board games. The game was created by Jennifer Durand, a San Francisco yoga teacher, and she has taken her practice to children with this game that fosters harmony and peace, as well as movement and flexibility. The object of the game is to plant a flower garden before night falls. One thing that really stood out was how beautiful and colorful the board is. Players use a bumble bee marker to move around the board. The players also take turns learning and inventing new yoga poses on their journey.
The Yoga Garden game is a mind calming, peaceful journey, that encourages children to work together in harmony instead of competing against each other. The game is designed for ages 4 and up, but even my 10 year old enjoyed the fun of creating and learning new yoga poses. This game would be a great addition to any family, but especially for those that have children that need to learn better balance and patience. We discovered not only were we having fun playing a board game, we were also getting exercise and challenging ourselves with posture and poses.
In addtion to this cool game, YogaKids offers yoga DVDs, books, and supplies for children and classrooms. They also have some workshops coming up in the Chicago area.

I love YOGA Kids!!!! My 3 babies will all be in school this fall. Have been thinking about teaching yoga for awhile, maybe now is the time to look into it seriously!
I like all of their products! I think I want this new game the most. Or a new mat for my youngest.
