Coasters are one of my favorite family crafts. They’re inexpensive, useful all year, and make lovely handmade gifts for teachers, neighbors and grandparents. Here are ten easy ways to make your own.
- Painted cork coasters: paint designs on round cork coasters with acrylic paint; seal with a clear sealer.
- Tile coasters: decoupage scrapbook paper onto 4-inch ceramic tiles with Mod Podge; add felt dots to the bottom.
- Felt coasters: cut hexagons or snowflakes from thick felt; kids can practice simple stitching around the edge.
- Map coasters: decoupage old maps onto tiles; fun for remembering family trips.
- Washi tape coasters: cover wood slices or tiles with stripes of washi tape and seal.
