My girlfriends and I meet up often to drink wine and talk books and movies. We were all excited about The Choice and wanted to read the book before we watched The Choice movie. Some hadn't read a single Nicholas Sparks book while others were long time fans. Even my husband loved The Notebook.

thechoicebookThe Choice, is out now!!
When feisty medical student Gabby Hollan [Teresa Palmer] moves in next door to perennial ladies’ man Travis Shaw [Benjamin Walker], they embark on a surprising romantic journey neither imagined possible. Travis has always believed a serious relationship would cramp his easygoing lifestyle, while Gabby is preparing to settle down with her long-term boyfriend—until an irresistible attraction between the unlikely couple upends both of their well-planned lives. How far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?

We had all kind of goodies. I made Bellinis, Champagne and juice because that is our thing. We usually have some sort of wine but the book reminded me of a comfy Southern Sunday so this was my version of Mimosas.

Buy on Amazon / Barnes and Noble

I also made BBQ Chicken sliders and baked beans because the story takes place in the Carolinas and I thought that would be fun. They were so yummy!

Everyone loved The Choice, especially Gabby. She was full of fire and easy to relate to and Travis.. Oh how I loved him and their love and attraction to each other. I also want to live in the small town of Beaufort. It was a beautiful setting for the book.

Watch the Trailer. You'll want to watch the movie too! We can't wait!

We all LOVED the book and can't wait until this weekend when we slip away to see the movie together. Love girl days!
Book Club Questions –
Travis says that his father knew he would marry his mother the minute he touched her hand. How do you know when you’ve met “the right one”? Do you believe in love at first sight?

Gabby is in a committed relationship with Kevin, but he doesn’t offer to marry her. Travis does. What are the differences between a committed relationship and a marriage? Do you think marriage is always a better option?

Travis says “There’s no such thing as being friends, not with single men and women our age.” Do you agree? Is it possible for men and women to be friends?

During the course of the novel, Travis decides having close friends isn’t enough for him and he needs Gabby in his life. How important are friends in having a happy, fulfilled life? Can they be more important than a spouse? More important than family?
