We have several debit cards in my household. I have mine, my husband has his, we have our business debit card, one I use for blogging (my expenses and Recurring Payments ) and one I ONLY use to buy online.
I have to be extremely organized and had to come up with my own billing system so we don't have declined debit cards.
Do you know how humiliating it was for me to have a declined debit card when I was buying groceries? Oh my gosh it was the worst! It wasn't that I didn't have the money but that I had forgotten to transfer money from the business account to my card. I couldn't buy groceries with the business account so I had to use my credit card. I hate using my credit card, it's just an unnecessary step because then I had to write a check to the credit card company.
Now I have to sit down and make a plan. So much to our personal accounts, so much to my online account, and so on…
I seem to spend a little more this time of year too and it's very easy to get flabbergasted and lose track of what I'm spending. I have to stay on top of the books and I don't care if it takes an extra minute, I write down what I spent immediately in my check registry.
What are you doing to stay organized with all of the holiday shopping?
