Tell us a little bit about your book(s) and yourself.
I write new adult and young adult romance, dabbling a little into paranormal, but staying mostly  contemporary. I have a wonderful family that keeps me sane, without whom I would never have  had the courage to start publishing. Not a day goes by that I don't have something chocolate. It's medicine for the soul. I have ten self-published titles, three upcoming titles with Berkley Publishing, and another with Penguin-NAL. Find me on Twitter and Facebook if you want to chat. When was your first book published? Meant to Be was published in May 2011. Why did you decide to become an Indie Author? Because the opportunity was there. At the time, I wasn't ready mentally to attempt the querying process of traditional publishing. I wanted to test the waters first by putting my work out there for  the reading public to see what kind of response I would get. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, so I continued writing. When the opportunity eventually came to sign with an agent, and then with Berkley Publishing, I jumped at the chance because it was literally a dream come true for me. Are you currently working on anything? I just completed the last book in the Woodfalls Girls Series for Berkley. All three titles will release this year. Currently, I a working on a project for Penguin-NAL. Who and what inspired you to write? My daughter was my original inspiration. We were reading many of the same titles and she asked if I could write something just for her. The rest is history. Each author has his or her own inspiring journey. How did you begin writing? I have been a life-long reading junkie. I always had this nagging feeling in the far recesses  of my mind, wondering if I could actually write a book. When my daughter asked me to write  something for her, it basically lit a spark. What is on your writing playlist for your book(s)? I'm sure it would sound cooler if I told you I listed to indie rock or something like that, but truthfully, I'm a top 40 girl. Always have been. Who is your favorite character in your books? That's like asking which of your children is your favorite. All my characters come from a special place in my heart. I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed Tressa from the Woodfalls Girls books. She has spunk and always says what is on her mind. She is the polar opposite of me. You can check her out in No Attachments, and again in Misunderstandings when it releases in May, and in her own title, Contradictions, coming in August. What is your favorite book of all time? The Harry Potter series. Tell us in one sentence why we should read your books. Because, I would be greatly honored.

No Attachments A Woodfalls Girls novel

Ashton Garrison walked away from her current life to escape the one thing she’s unwilling to face. She knows her decision may be selfish, but in the end, leaving will be far less painful for everyone. Now she has one goal: live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. What Ashton doesn’t count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Nathan Lockton specializes in locating a mark. He’s done it over and over again—no attachments and no emotion necessary. What he thought was a routine lost-and-found job has forced Nathan to deal with something he has always ignored—his feelings. He’s never fallen for a target, yet he’s never met anyone like Ashton. Now deep in a dilemma, Nathan must decide to follow his heart, or complete the job he was hired to do. Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?
