Happy Release Day to Author Bonnie R Paulson! She joined us today for an interview .

What is your preferred genre?

I'm one of the rare ones that doesn't have a particular preference. It really depends on my mood. When I was pregnant, anything gory and twisted – like Stephen King. Growing up it was historical romances. I'm in the middle of reading a contemporary romance in the morning and a thriller in the afternoon. To be honest, the only genre I don't like is a boring book. What's your favorite?

Was there an Author that inspired your writing?

Oh yes! Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. Historical Romance, she was the founding mother of romance and women's fiction today. Essentially she's the reason we don't do dime novels anymore. Her heroines took action, kidnapped the man, etc. Don't you love when that happens?

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?

Anytime I meet an author – newbie or established – I get overly excited and fangirl just a bit. But My absolute “be still my heart” author would be Jude Deveraux. Her Knight in Shining Armor broke me more than once while reading it and I've read it more times than I can count.

Is there a particular movie that you preferred over the book version?

Anne of Green Gables. Love LOVE the movies. The books are good, but just don't do what Meagan Follows did.

How many hours per day do you try to devote to research and writing?

I try to do 3 to 4. I have a large family and getting to sit down and work either needs to happen late at night or early morning (answering these questions is taking place at 3.45 am for instance).

How many books do you have planned this year?

I have 9 planned for this year because I write multiple genres, I have different readers wanting different things. So I try to stagger my genre releases. It keeps me on my toes.

What are you working on now?

A series that will release in July – an apocalyptic series that is based on standing one's ground, finding what to believe in and protecting those beliefs. I'm very excited for this series.
