In episode 1 of season 2 of The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny go on their first date. Both people feel insecure about the date and unbeknownst to them both, each of them has feelings for the other person. When Leonard learns of Penny’s insecurity about her intelligence, he gives her brochures to a local community college and tells her he is fine dating a girl who isn’t smart. Penny abruptly slams the door in his face.
I'm sorry but as much as I love Leonard I would have punched him. I had a boyfriend once tell me he had dated woman much more beautiful than me but he really loved me. Umm, I *think* it was suppose to be a compliment but at that moment I knew I didn't want to be with him anymore and we'd been together 2 1/2 yrs. My husband now thinks I'm beautiful on the inside and outside and tells me all of the time. So guys really need to watch what they say because we know we can find someone who will appreciate us better.
I do hope Leonard and Penny get back together because he's just awkward and can't talk to people period 😉
