notwithoutyou-197x300Grad student, Lisa Richardson, scours the high country in search of her beloved boreal toad. The amphibian is in danger of extinction, a fate she is determined to change. Single-minded in her focus, Lisa doesn’t realize that she’s being followed by a mysterious stranger.

Enter McIntyre Walsh. Ex-marine with a heart of gold, this man lives and breathes duty. Protection. Content with his self-exile on a mountaintop in Colorado, he inadvertently witnesses a female hiker in danger, a situation he cannot ignore yet is unable to rectify. When their paths cross, Lisa and Walsh refuse to stray from their avowed goals and carry on–despite the other.

It isn’t until a killer ramps up his game that both are forced to relent. Battling the rugged terrain of the Rocky Mountains and an undeniable attraction between them, Lisa and Walsh must work together against the odds if they intend to get off the mountain alive.

Where did you get the idea for this book?

The idea for Not Without You stems from a real life incident. Years ago in the mountains of Colorado, young female hikers were being murdered by an elusive mountain man. I twisted the basic plot to suit my own needs and a novel was born.

When will you have a new book come out?

All About You will release this summer.

What do you do when you aren't writing?

I live in my organic garden when not watching my kids play their sports, soccer and tennis. I have been known to combine events and have been spotted sitting in my car during soccer/tennis practice typing away at my computer! Evening conversation is mostly devoted to hubby and homework help.

    Any favorite writing snacks?

Water. I definitely need a glass of water at my computer when writing.

How many hours do you dedicate to writing?

Usually 5-6 hours a day, depending on my kids' schedule. I'm a stay-at-home mom first, and a writer second. Once the kids are off to college, I figure I'll have 10 hours a day to write! If I were so inclined…

    Who is your favorite character?

While I love Lisa, I adore Walsh. Nothing better than a strong masculine good-looking hero who wants to ensure your safety and won't take no for an answer.

In one sentence tell us why someone should read this book.

If you're looking for an adventurous escape with intriguing twists and interesting facts, Not Without You is your kind of book.

About Dianne –

Dianne lives in Central Florida with her husband, two children and part-time Yellow Lab–Cody-body! When not whacking away at her keyboard crafting her next novel you'll find her in their organic garden chasing grasshoppers and plucking hornworms all while drawing wild analogies between kids and plants and men. Definitely men.

A girl's gotta have fun, right?

When she's not knee-deep in dirt or romance, Dianne contributes garden advice for various websites and volunteers in school gardens (a crazy existence to be sure). But at the end of the day, if she can inspire someone to stop and smell the roses–or rosemary!—kiss their child and spouse good-night, be kind to a neighbor and Mother Earth, then she's done all right.
