Summer and high temperatures are here! It is time for some yummy frozen treats to help cool us all down. I am always a sucker for anything with cookie dough in it. So when I found a recipe with the words “Double Cookie Dough” I couldn’t get in the kitchen fast enough!
This ice cream reminds me of a chocolate chip cookie ice cream I had years ago. It was an ice cream that actually tasted like a cookie, not just chunks of cookie dough. It was so good, and I have never forgotten it! The key is brown butter and brown sugar. Both give it a depth of flavor to take it beyond the traditional vanilla ice cream with cookie dough mixed in. Now I really wish I had more of this in my freezer!
